Action Photography: If it moves, I'll shoot it

  1. Dogs

Great Dogs (and a cat)

Some are mine, some are not. The late, great Indy was mine and Gus, the one squishing bugs in the yard, is the current guy from the Riverside Animal Shelter: http://www.riversideshelter.com/ He's not a rocket scientist, but he is a charmer.
Update: Gus passed away on September 15, 2009, after a short battle with cancer.
Update 2: Current doggie is the little cattle dog, Gracey, from the Riverside Humane Society

Put your best foot forward

(May 13, 2012) Gracey's mother's day gift to me was a healed foot. I dropped the 40D camera with the 24-70mm lens on her foot last Friday - she greeted me a little enthusiastically when I came home from shooting the Show and Go. The lens hood cut a deep gash in her foot. A trip to the emergency vet later, xrays, medications, and bandages for a week, it all came off today and we went for a walk. She is a happy camper and I am relieved.

(April 28, 2012) Gracey found some take-out food on our walk this morning. It took some convincing to get her to trade it for a dog biscuit, and she was less convinced than forced.
(Jan. 1, 2012) What a great way to start the new year -- a walk with friends. This is Gracey's bff Zoe having a bit of a romp off the trail.

(Jan. 23, 2011) This is how Gracey rolls.
  • Struttin' her stuff

(Jan. 5, 2011) Gracey entered the new year with a much cheekier stride than a year ago:
We'd only had her about three weeks when that photo was taken. She's still got that pigeontoed gait, but she tracks up and is bright-eyed and ready to take on a challenge.
  • Arizona SunDog

(Dec. 24, 2010) This is Toby the Wonder Dog, also a Good Citizen and Paws to Read dog. He belongs to Toni of The Toni Project-.
  • Naughty or Nice?

(Dec. 21, 2010) Uh oh, I think Gracey ate an elf.
  • Up to no good

(Dec. 8, 2010) I don't know which one of them is the most likely to get into trouble. They are really double trouble as far as I am concerned. Gracey had something that looked remarkably like a cactus spine removed from her ear canal yesterday, but she had recovered her moxie by this evening.
  • Somebody's been up to no good
  • What? I'm not doin' nuthin'.
  • I did it! I wore out a cattle dog.
  • I got it! I got it!

Gracey did not like the disorder of Halloween night.
  • Australian Squirrel Dog

(July 27, 2010) Gracey herded a squirrel right down this hole and is on the lookout for more.
  • Basic hiking kit: a good pack, water, water bowl, and a good dog
(July 24, 2010) What more could you need?

Poor Gracey! Glad it wasn't worse, and relieved that she's back healthy and happy.
