  • Splish Splash, I was takin' a bath . . . .<br /> <br /> (Dec. 31, 2010) I hope everyone makes a splash in 2011. Happy New Year!
  • Santa Ana River(bottom)<br /> <br /> (Dec. 30, 2010) When it rains, the river that Riverside is by the side of becomes more visible and we can call it a river rather than a riverbottom.
  • Palms to Pines<br /> <br /> (Dec. 29, 2010) It rained all day today, so I thought I'd post a shot from Monday, when it was just another crummy day in Paradise.
  • Iron horses<br /> <br /> (Dec. 28, 2010) Another out of the window shot, somewhere near Ash Fork, AZ. These pickups were parked near the highway and seemed both ominous and iconic.
  • Munchosaurus bannicus<br /> <br /> (Dec. 27, 2010) And, of course, it is also time for the annual shot of the dinosaurs at Banning Pass, calmly eating their way past the Morongo Casino. Taken at 70 mph from I-10, so comp and focus literally went out the window.
  • "I am 16, going on 17 . . ."<br /> <br /> (Dec. 26, 2010) This is my annual shot of my parent's dog, Bente. I'm never sure if I will get another shot of her, but she is like the EverReady Bunny. She still hops on down to the mailbox, about a quarter of a mile, every morning to get the paper with my mother.

  • Riding into the sunset<br /> <br /> (Dec. 23, 2010) We were headed just to the left of Granite Mountain here, on our way in from I-40 to Williamson Valley/Prescott, AZ.
  • Gracey fetches another elf remnant from the chimney . . . <br /> <br /> (December 22, 2010) . . . which is doubly weird, because we don't have a fireplace.<br /> <br /> Have a good Christmas everyone. We're headed out tomorrow, and I don't know when I'll upload next.

  • Rodent Control<br /> <br /> (Dec. 17, 2010) I came across this red tail hawk eating something small and a little grassy too.

  • Hawking<br /> <br /> (Dec. 12, 2010) I don't know if that's what one calls what a hawk does, but this hawk was being very hawklike looking for dinner.<br /> <br /> Thanks for all the kind comments about Gracey's year anniversay with us. She is a hoot. However, I was glad to post a new daily. That one of her shaking made me a little itchy.

    Beautiful shot Andrea.. Isn't it just amazing to see the perfect pattern and curve of those little tufts of nasty spines...yes, nasty..I remember them well from my childhood and a backyard that was home to a few different cacti!

    Great macro - and OH YES, those are sooooo prickly. Someone told me I could make prickly pear margaritas one time. Well, let me just say - the margaritas were great, picking all those little pesky thorns out with tweezers was NOT great. Super shot.

    These are nasty little buggers...those little spikes get in you, you can feel them, but you cannot see them... I'm too close just looking at this picture.
