The depiction of the 'San Ta' figure blessing the deer spirits alternatively has been referred to as 'San Taclosxl tells a big fish story to other wildlife forms' and 'Santa, surrounded by hostile local fauna, surrenders'. Interviews with local people reveal conflicting legends that vary across time and between generations."

(December 24, 2020) It's Throwback Thursday and this is from a card that I made (up) in 1999. The final version was lost to various hard drive crashes and the demise of Quark publishing programs, but the original composite image survived. The photo is NOT real, particularly not the hat, but a collage and embellishment of various shots that I took on a trip to the Sierra San Francisco petroglyphs in Baja California, Mexico.

  • 2021 Bound<br /> <br /> (December 30, 2020) Same red tail hawk as yesterday, a few seconds before the shot against the mountains. No road trip - it was just taken from a road that looks down on a wooded area and then across to the mountains.

  • Beginning, middle, and, well, later middle<br /> <br /> (December 22, 2020) Arena teardown at the barn started last Sunday with a big work party and is ongoing (without the party part). A new arena fence will be built/installed in February.

  • No Fair<br /> <br /> (December 20, 2020) Charlie did not approve of Punkin' sneaking some of his grass. Punkin's response was the equivalent of, "Bite me," which I then had to prevent Charlie from doing. It won't happen again, because this arena fence came down today. [iPhone 6s photo]
