Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Tuff stuff

(June 26) These guys are very territorial. He considered taking me on too. I went hunting bigger game at the UCR Botanic Garden again today but ended up with the small fry instead. That's why I'm using the 300mm as a macro again.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Apparently happiness does grow on trees

(June 22) Who knew? This is a rare Helium kitschei tree with fully ripe fruit.

"and in traffic news today...there's a 3 turtle pile-up on the main log route so alternate ways of getting to the sunshine are recommended." (dedmanshootn's caption - thanks, that's my favorite)

(March 21) Turtles at the UCR Botanic Gardens. They were just hangin' out.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Synchronized swim team from Fairmount Park

(July 8, 2008) Totally cheesy, I know. I went for the extreme cuteness factor, but sometimes that's worth something.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Not so shiny things

(March 16) We spent the weekend cleaning out the original shed behind the house, built around 1950. It's basically held together by the termites holding hands and 57 years of paint. But when we got the 1940 Chevy in there, it looked like she belonged.

(Jan. 14) Last of the light at Lake Evans, Fairmount Park.
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > The Physics of Superheroes

(June 15) This was taken by me somewhere between 30-35 years ago, I think, but planned out completely by my dad. This is an old scan of old photos, pieced together today into the original sequence, so forgive the quality. My dad originally built the cavalletti for my horses. A family friend was very impressed by that and wanted a photo of them to find out what they looked like. So my dad thought it would be great to get a sequence of him jumping them. He had me take a photo of him running toward the cavalletti stacked up and then running away from them. Then we took the top one off, put it on the ground, where it was about two feet high, and took a picture of him jumping it from the perspective of the ground. My mom put them together and sent them to our friend, telling her that this was how to use the cavalletti properly. My dad's a superhero, as you can see, and a physicist. I only hope I inherited some of his creativity and sense of humour. Happy Father's Day, Papa!
Andrea Kaus (ChaosGraphics) > Stopped in my tracks

(Dec. 8, 2006) Bobcat at the UCR Botanical Gardens -- can you believe it? I can't. I was walking back to my car and saw a very large cat cross the road. I followed it and got a few shots through the trees. I've only seen a bobcat three times in the wild, and the previous two times nobody believed me. This fellow was a gift, I think. .

This is Jim's daily pick. Mine is here:

(July 10, 2008) Lone sentry squirrel trying to blend in.
